Today’s ESMT Annual Forum 2019 on “Global Change. New Challenges. New Opportunities” will illuminate the key trends in business innovation and leadership worldwide. International leaders in business, politics, and academia will discuss topics such as the growing influence of China on the world stage, the role of emerging economies in Africa, and the ethical implications around doing business in times of political and technological disruption. More than 400 international guests are expected to attend the one-day conference.
The speakers at this year’s ESMT Annual Forum include Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany; Stefanie Babst, Chief Strategic Policy Analyst, NATO; Doris Höpke, Member of the Board, Munich Re; Wolfgang Huber, former Chair of the Council of the Protestant Church in Germany; Lorena Jaume-Palasí, Founder, Ethical Tech Society; Dieter Zetsche, Chair of the ESMT Board of Trustees; and Dennis Zuo, Chair of the Board of Huawei Germany. In the evening, Corinne Michaela Flick will be honored for her commitment to society as founder and chair of the non-profit foundation Convoco. She will receive the ESMT Berlin prize for business excellence in leadership, innovation, or analytics (LIA).
The conference will also feature the presentation of the new Board of Ambassadors of the Friends of ESMT. In addition to the board’s chair Corinne Michaela Flick, its members include Judith Epstein, Anja Langenbucher, Claudia Porsche, Evelyn Stern (Lady Chipperfield), and Sigrid Streletzki. The ambassadors will represent values of ESMT, such as ethical leadership and corporate social responsibility, to the outside world and provide internal impetus. A focus will be on promoting sustainable development in Africa.
