Professor Dr. Rüdiger Köhling von der Klinik für Epileptologie der Universität Bonn hat den Michael-Preis der Internationalen Liga gegen Epilepsie erhalten. Der mit rund 10.000 Euro dotierte Preis ist eine der höchsten internationalen Auszeichnungen für Epilepsieforschung und wird alle zwei Jahre vergeben. Professor Köhling, Jahrgang 1966, erforscht als Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe "Experimentelle Neurophysiologie" die Grundlagen der Entstehung und Ausbreitung epileptischer Aktivität im Gehirn. In der Bonner Klinik für Epileptologie arbeiten zur Zeit weitere drei Michaelspreisträger, der Direktor Professor Dr. Christian E. Elger (Preisträger 1983), Privatdozent Dr. Heinz Beck (Preisträger 1999) und der Gastforscher Professor Yoel Yaari aus Jerusalem (Preisträger 1987).
