Biodiversity in the lecture hall – Talks at the Leibniz-IZW during the „Berlin Science Week“

Dr. Natalia Stolyarchuk Pressestelle des Forschungsverbundes Berlin e.V.
Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V.

The “Berlin Science Week" will take place from November 1 to November 10, 2019 at research institutions in Berlin. The festival brings together top researchers from all over the world with the local science community and the public in Germany’s capital. The Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) is participating in the festival with a lecture programme. The lectures on infectious diseases in animals, service dogs for wildlife research and the use of citizen sciences in biodiversity research will take place on November 5, 2019 in the lecture hall of the Leibniz-IZW. Admission is free.

Leibniz-IZW is a leading international institution in the field of biodiversity research and conservation. The scientists conduct basic and applied research on the adaptation of wildlife to changing environmental conditions – from the molecular to the global level – and develop methods and tools for research-based conservation. At the “Berlin Science Week” on November 5, 2019, three scientists will present their projects to the general public:

    - 16 PM: Saba Mottaghinia: “Virolution: the role of evolution in emerging infectious diseases” (Talk in English)
    - 17 PM: Carolin Scholz: “Schnüffeln für die Wissenschaft – Diensthunde am Leibniz-IZW” (Talk in German)
    - 18 PM: Dr Sarah Kiefer: “Biodiversitätsforschung am Leibniz-IZW und wie Citizen Science dabei helfen kann” (Talk in German)

Further information on the three presentations can be found at https://berlinscienceweek.com/programme/biodiversity-in-the-lecture-hall/. The talks will be held in cooperation with the project "Bridging in Biodiversity Science" (BIBS), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
