Eine ganz besondere Auszeichnung bekam am 24. Oktober Dr. Thomas Hirth verliehen: Er wurde im Rahmen einer Feierstunde von der Fachhochschule Wiesbaden, Fachbereich Umwelttechnik, zum Honorarprofessor ernannt. Die Ernennungsurkunde überreichten FH-Präsident Prof. Dr. Klockner sowie Dekan Gerd Küveler, die mit diesem Ehrentitel seine herausragenden Leistungen im Bereich der Umwelttechnik würdigten.
Nach seinem Chemiestudium an der Universität Karlsruhe promovierte Dr. Hirth dort 1992 und leitet seit 1995 die Abteilung Umwelt-Engineering am Fraunhofer ICT.
