4th place in the world ranking list for student racing team of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg

Luisa Rischer Pressestelle
Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg

Due to the consistently good performances in the last two years, the Racetech Racing Team has made it into the top 5 in the worldwide ranking of the Formula Student Electric, making the student racing team the second best team in Europe after the TU Munich Garching.

A result that is all the more remarkable as the team competed with rear-wheel drive and was able to assert itself against the strong four-wheel competition.

But Racetech, too, has recognized the signs of the times and has been developing its own four-wheel drive concept for two years now. With the RT14, the team will bring the first vehicle with four wheel hub motors to the major European race tracks in the coming 2019/20 season.

With this the team wants to assert itself even better against the strong starting field. In addition to the Freiberg racing team, the top five in the world include the Munich team TUFast, the FEM team from Nagoya University in Japan, the Australian team Monash Motorsport as well as the DHBW engineering team from the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.
