Conference deals with innovations for commercial vehicles - vacancies still available

Melanie Löw Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
Technische Universität Kaiserslautern

    From electromobility to autonomous driving

Are there any environmentally friendly engines for commercial vehicles? Which fuel alternatives are suitable for combustion engines? How about energy efficiency in this context? How can autonomous vehicles be used in agriculture? Do such technologies work safely and reliably? Questions like these will be the focus of the 6th "International Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium" from 10 to 12 March on the campus of Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK). Registration is still possible until 28 February. The event is aimed at interested parties from industry and science.

Commercial vehicles that do not emit CO2, trucks with a new type of stand-alone electric drive system as well as vehicle combinations that operate in swarms on the field in agriculture - these are just a few of the topics that will be discussed during the conference on the campus of TU Kaiserslautern. More than 50 contributions are available to inform participants about current developments in research and industry.

There will also be an indoor and outdoor exhibition, where various innovations in commercial vehicles will be shown. The exhibition include, for example, a bus in which various safety systems have been installed and an electrified trailer for long-distance transport, which reduces CO2 emissions through so-called recuperation (energy recovery) and electric drive.

Those interested in participating can register online until the end of February at www.cvt-symposium.de. More information about the program and conference fees can also be found on this website.

The symposium is organised by the Centre for Commercial Vehicle Technology (ZNT), among other organisers. At the Centre for Commercial Vehicle Technology, more than 150 researchers from more than 13 faculties of computer science, electrical engineering and information technology as well as mechanical engineering work together on an interdisciplinary basis. They develop, for example, techniques for autonomous driving and software solutions that ensure the reliability of new technologies in vehicles. They are also working on intelligent networked vehicles and investigating how people and vehicles will interact with each other in the future. Another area of research is increasing energy and CO2 efficiency through lightweight construction, alternative fuels, hybridization and electromobility.

The ZNT is part of the Commercial Vehicle Alliance Kaiserslautern (CVA) and cooperates with many of the research institutes located directly next to the university campus, such as Fraunhofer IESE (www.iese.fraunhofer.de) and ITWM (www.itwm.fraunhofer.de), which, like the Commercial Vehicle Cluster Südwest (www.cvc-suedwest.com), are also among the conference organisers. The aforementioned platform also ensures close cooperation with commercial vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, with the ZNT acting as the central scientific contact. Read more at www.uni-kl.de/znt

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
