Prof. Dr. Matthias Schneider ist der Solist der zweiten Orgelmatinée am kommenden Sonntag (2. Februar) im Dom St. Nikolai. Im Rahmen des Zyklus "Französische Orgelmusik des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts" steht der Choral Nr. 2 h-Moll von César Franck im Zentrum des Programmes. Daneben werden Werke aufgeführt, die sich der Toccata als Kompositionsform widmen: das Bachsche "Pièce d'Orgue", das mit einer Toccata beginnt, die 1. Sonate ("Symphonie") d-Moll von Alexandre Guilmant, bei der eine bravouröse Toccata das Finale bildet, und schließlich die Schlußtoccata "Dieu parmi nous" ("Gott unter uns") aus Olivier Messiaens Weihnachtszyklus "La Nativité du Seigneur".
Die Matinée beginnt um 11.30 Uhr, der Eintritt ist frei.
