Ebenso wie ihre Kollegen Michael Saller, Mario Brandtner und Marek Opuszko wurde auch Weronika Cichorek in diesem Jahr auf eine Professur im Fachbereich Betriebswirtschaft der EAH Jena berufen. Prof. Dr. Cichorek lehrt seit dem aktuellen Wintersemester Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaft, insbesondere Steuern.
Frau Cichorek ist in Kalisz (Polen) geboren. Sie studierte an der TU Dresden Betriebswirtschaftslehre und arbeitete anschließend als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität Hamburg sowie in verschiedenen Steuerberatungskanzleien der Hansestadt.
2017 schloss die Wissenschaftlerin ihre Promotion mit einem Thema zum internationalen Steuerrecht an der Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder ab. Im Jahr darauf erfolgte das erfolgreiche Ablegen ihres Steuerberaterexamens.
Vor ihrer Berufung an die Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena war sie anderthalb Jahre als Professorin an der FH Münster tätig.
Prof. Dr. Weronika Cichoreks Schwerpunkte in Lehre und Forschung liegen im Bereich der Steuern. „Steuern sind meine Leidenschaft“, sagte sie bei ihrer Vorstellung in der Hochschule.
