Last year, Leuphana University Lüneburg succeeded for the first time in being included in the ShanghaiRanking of the best universities worldwide. Now the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published this year's global ranking of academic subjects. Leuphana is represented there again and achieves good to very good rankings.
The results in detail: In the field of Environmental Science and Engineering, Leuphana is ranked 201-300 worldwide or 12th in Germany, in the field of Ecology 201-300 worldwide or 17th in Germany, in the field of Business Administration 301-400 worldwide or 14th in Germany, in the field of Education 301-400 worldwide or 15th in Germany, in the field of Management 401-500 worldwide or 14th in Germany, thus improving by 7 places compared to the previous year. In the field of psychology, it was ranked 401-500 worldwide and 30th in Germany. In 4 of these 6 disciplines, Leuphana is the best-ranked university in Lower Saxony.
With the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2021, the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy presents what it claims is the most comprehensive and objective ranking of universities worldwide by subject. This year's ranking includes rankings of universities in 54 subjects across the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medicine and social sciences. More than 1,800 out of 4,000 universities from 93 countries and regions are included in the ranking.
The ranking takes into account a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure the performance of universities worldwide in relevant subjects. International academic awards, academic excellence, research quality and international collaboration are also included in the assessment.
