In the second part of the conference series on »Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Hate Speech: The International Perspective (IPHSE)«, we will extend the interdisciplinary discussion of online hate speech to an international perspective.
Researchers from Germany and abroad will present their research on online hate speech. Speakers will provide views from the following fields Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Information Science and Political Science. Together, we want to discuss topics like the description of hate speech as well as its regulation from an interdisciplinary perspective. Automatic detection systems play an essential role in the regulation of hate speech online, and there has been an increasing need for more powerful but at the same time also more transparent systems (XAI).
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The conference takes place at the University of Hildesheim or online on the 11th of November 2021.

IPHSE II is part of the project HASeKI (Das Phänomen Hate Speech und seine Erkennung durch KI: interdisziplinär – international – erklärbar?) on the explainability of hate speech detection, which is financed by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony.
