The Board of Governors, the university's supervisory board, appointed two new members to the management of Jacobs University Bremen. Maja Laetitia Feldt comes to Bremen from the University of Verona, Italy, and will become Director of University Programs and Processes at Jacobs University. Christoph Steffens, most recently Chief Financial Officer at STRATO AG, will serve as Director of Operations and Finance. Together they will form the Executive Board of Jacobs University from May 1, 2022, under the leadership of President Fabio Pammolli and with Provost Thomas Auf der Heyde.
For her new position, Maja Feldt draws on more than 20 years of experience in process, performance and quality management at both private and public universities. Most recently, she held the position of Director of Education and Student Services at the University of Verona. She completed a master's program in Sweden and obtained an executive master’s degree in Management of University and Research by the MIP Business School, Politecnico di Milano. She is also a member of various academic committees in Italy. Given her extensive experience abroad, Maja Feldt is particularly looking forward to working in an international and interdisciplinary environment at Jacobs University as well. "I will bring all my experience to bear and do my utmost to support Jacobs University in further expanding its standing as a first-class international university," says the future Managing Director.
Christoph Steffens, the future CFO, describes his mission as follows: "I am very much looking forward to contribute to the further development of Jacobs University for the benefit of all students and employees as well as its neighbors and the public at large." The 55-year-old Steffens previously spent almost 30 years as head of finance departments at large telecommunications and information technology companies, such as 1&1 IONOS, STRATO, Deutsche Telekom, and freenet/mobilcom, and also led the telecommunications team at the consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance in Düsseldorf. He holds a degree in economics from the Technical University of Berlin.
Philipp Rösler, in his function as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Jacobs University, welcomes the new members of the Executive Board: "Maja Feldt and Christoph Steffens contribute essential aspects that will strongly shape the future Jacobs University. In particular, Jacobs University will benefit from their experience and international networks in the academic and business fields in the coming years."
