Invitation to the sbe22 Berlin D-A-CH conference from 20 to 23 September 2022 at TU Berlin / Tickets now on sale
The current global climate crisis requires us to examine and radically change how we live, work, consume and build. In particular, the production and maintenance of the built environment accounts for a huge share of global carbon emissions and energy and resource consumption. We need a comprehensive transformation of the building sector. This is the challenge to be addressed by the sbe 22 Berlin D-A-CH international conference on sustainable built environment within planetary boundaries in September 2022. The conference is organized by TU Berlin’s Natural Building Lab in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, and Graz University of Technology.
The conference, which this year is taking place for the first time at TU Berlin, offers an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary platform for some 200-300 researchers and other interested parties for networking and sharing knowledge and experience on the future of building and urban development at local and global levels. Topics to be covered include resource management and material flows, climate neutral buildings, post-fossil infrastructures, critical digitalization, and socio-political frames for transitions.
Tickets are now on sale for either individual days or all three days of the conference. Early bird ticket sales run until 14 July 2022. The two main conference days will be on 21 and 22 September 2022 at TU Berlin and are complemented by a pre-conference day on "Prototyping Material Cycles" and "Communal Climate Action" on 20 September as well as subject-specific field trips in Berlin on 23 September.
