Dem Bayreuther Pflanzensystematiker Dr. Ulrich Meve ist der Karl-Schumann-Preis 2004 der Deutschen Kakteen Gesellschaft zuerkannt worden. Ausgezeichnet wurde seine Publikation "Sukkulentenlexikon: Asclepiadaceae".
Bayreuth (UBT). Dr. Ulrich Meve, Akademischer Rat am Lehrstuhl für Pflanzensystematik, ist der Karl-Schumann-Preis 2004 der Deutschen Kakteen Gesellschaft zuerkannt worden. Der Karl-Schumann-Preis wird jährlich für hervorragende Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Sukkulentenkunde vergeben und ist mit 1000,- Euro dotiert. Mit diesem Preis soll insbesondere Meves Buchpublikation "Illustrated Handbook of Succulent Plant: Asclepiadaceae" (englischsprachige Ausgabe bei Springer) bzw. "Sukkulentenlexikon: Asclepiadaceae" (deutschsprachige Ausgabe bei Ulmer)] gewürdigt werden. Die Preisverleihung findet am 12. Juni in Hannover statt.
