Innovative energy research: Industry Day at the University of Bayreuth on October 12, 2022

Christian Wißler Pressestelle
Universität Bayreuth

On October 12, 2022, the Center of Energy Technology (ZET) at the University of Bayreuth will host the "Industry Day" for the first time. Representatives of companies from all branches of industry are invited to learn first-hand about the latest findings, innovative applications and cutting-edge technologies in fields of energy research and energy engineering. Together with ZET scientists, they can explore opportunities for cooperation in research and development. Participation is free of charge.

    Date: Industry Day on October 12, 2022, 2 to 4 p.m.
Location: Building of the TechnologieAllianzOberfranken (TAO), Rüdiger-Bormann-Str. 1, Bayreuth.
    Registration: https://zet-ubt.eventbrite.fr or by e-mail to zet@uni-bayreuth.de
    Further information: https://www.zet.uni-bayreuth.de

The Center of Energy Technology (ZET) is a common umbrella for the professional competences and research projects on energy technology at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bayreuth. Currently, eight chairs here focus on thermal, chemical, biological and electrical aspects of the generation, transmission, storage and use of energy. The "Industry Day" offers managers and employees of companies from all sectors the opportunity to get to know ZET's extensive high-tech equipment – especially its 12 keylabs. Here, future-oriented topics such as sector coupling, energy-autonomous buildings or high-voltage direct current transmission are worked on in an interdisciplinary manner.

The following equipment, for example, is available for industrial cooperation with ZET: Equipment for the measurement of thermophysical material properties, for the development of electrical energy systems or for the fine analysis of flue and combustion gases, a partial discharge test bench, laboratory equipment for the investigation of gas-solid reactions, a 3D metal printer, the prototype of a high-temperature heat pump and a climate chamber with solar simulator. The examples of ongoing ZET projects in the fields of hydrogen production, geothermal heat supply, metal 3D printing and low-emission biomass combustion illustrate the breadth of cooperation opportunities with ZET.

During the guided tours through the laboratories and at the get-together afterwards, all participants will have the opportunity to talk to scientists of the University of Bayreuth and to arrange further appointments with regard to a possible cooperation. The following ZET members have confirmed their participation in the "Industry Day":
    - Prof. Mark-Matthias Bakran - power electronics, electrical energy converters
    - Prof. Dieter Brüggemann - hydrogen, heating and cooling technology
    - Prof. Michael Danzer - fuel cells, batteries
    - Prof. Gerhard Fischerauer - control technology for electrical energy systems
    - Prof. Ruth Freitag - biogas and waste water treatment
    - Prof. Andreas Jess - synthetic fuels, catalysis
    - Prof. Ralf Moos - sensor technology and exhaust gas aftertreatment
    - Prof. Christina Roth - electrolysis and redox flow technology
    - Prof. Stephan Tremmel - 3D printing, finite element analysis

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
