COSMO - Inauguration of the Science Forum at the Dresden Kulturpalast

Claudia Kallmeier Pressestelle
Technische Universität Dresden

The Science Forum at the Dresden Kulturpalast, COSMO, is now open to the public. At COSMO – short for COllaborative Science MOments – various scientific disciplines are working together to create moments where people from all walks of life can experience research up close.

COSMO is about tangible science, right at the heart of the historic city center, all under the roof of the Kulturpalast. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover alternating topics in this space, to try them out, and to talk directly with the scientists on site.

The project is run by the Barkhausen Institut gGmbH and the Department for Speculative Transformation of TU Dresden in cooperation with partners of the DRESDEN-concept Science Alliance, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and the Central Library.

COSMO was officially opened on September 28, 2022 with about 70 guests in attendance. From October 4, you can visit the Science Forum from Tuesday through Thursday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Visitors will find an interactive IoT (Internet of Things) panorama showing the world of connected devices, the Urban Mobility exhibition where they can get a glimpse into a climate-neutral Dresden in 2035, an airhockey robot to play against, a patchCROP - farming simulator, and more.
