On 29th November 2022, from 2 pm to 6.45 pm CET, the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies (BICC) will hold its Annual Conference entitled “Infrastructural power at the global frontiers: prospects for conflict and peace”.
“The world witnesses the return of the era of infrastructure mega projects. They not only have a decisive impact on geopolitical tectonics but also can fuel local conflicts”, Conrad Schetter, Director of BICC underlines. Can mega infrastructure projects be used to spur peace in project regions? How can violence associated with infrastructure projects be overcome?
“I am excited to discuss these questions virtually with researchers, peace and development practitioners and activists from local communities at our upcoming BICC conference on 29 November 2022 that looks at transport, energy and conservation infrastructures across the globe”, Marie Müller-Koné, BICC researcher and member of the conference team expresses.
Please find an outline of the conference and a preliminary programme at http://conference.bicc.de/
The conference will be held online via Zoom, and you will find the registration link also at http://conference.bicc.de/ (Registration will be closed by 20 November 2022.)
