The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities has announced Frank Neese, director at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, as one of their new members.

Each year, during its annual Einstein Day in Potsdam, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities honors the famous scientist Albert Einstein.
On this Einstein Day, the academy has now also officially welcomed five new members within its rows, including Frank Neese, Director at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung and Head of the Department of Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy. He is now a new full member in the Mathematical and Natural Sciences Class.
The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities currently counts around 400 members. Its purpose is to promote science, consult politicians and to advance the dialogue between science and society. It also supports the institutional cooperation of non-university research with the universities in Berlin and Brandenburg. The academy selects its members from all over Germany and from abroad. Those considered as distinguished representatives of their fields can be appointed as members.
