This Friday at 17:00 CEST, the Lindau Online Sciathon 2023 will start with the opening event. Based on the concept of a hackathon, almost 30 groups of scientists from all over the world will work intensively for 48 hours on projects submitted by Lindau Alumni. These Alumni also lead the working groups of Young Scientists selected for the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting and of other Lindau Alumni.

The motto of the third edition of the Sciathon is "Innovative Applications of Medical Research", aiming at creative, innovative application of instruments from biomedicine to solve (societal) problems.

Opportunity for Finalists to Present Their Idea at the Lindau Meeting

A jury of experts chaired by Professor Stefan H. E. Kaufmann will evaluate the results of the Sciathon on the basis of criteria such as creativity of the idea, quality and relevance of the project as well as feasibility. As a result, representatives of up to five projects will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas in a workshop during the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting this year: With Lindau Supporters, business representatives and other players who want to make a difference through science, the aim is to discuss how these scientific ideas can be turned into viable concepts. A ranking of the three best projects will also be decided upon in this context.

The opening and closing events of the Sciathon will be broadcasted live on sciathon.org – an excellent opportunity for potential future Young Scientists, among others, to get a first impression of the Lindau Meetings.

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
