Great success in the Shanghai ranking: reputation of the divisional university strengthened

The Hannover Medical School (MHH) is one of the 500 best universities in the world. This is the result of the renowned Shanghai Ranking, which places emphasis on research in the evaluation of universities. In Germany, the MHH ranks 25th in Lower Saxony, only the University of Göttingen performs better. “For us, as a comparatively small departmental university in the field of life sciences, this achievement is a great success and strengthens our international reputation,” says MHH President Professor Dr. Michael Manns.

In the ranking, the best 100 universities are listed in detail, while the remaining places are clustered. The MHH ranks in the group “Places 401 to 500”. Havard University (Cambridge, USA) ranks as the best university in the world, Heidelberg University (worldwide ranked 55th). The “Academic Ranking of World Universities” has been conducted since 2003. It evaluates 1,000 universities in six categories, including academic publication achievements and high-level awards. 46 German universities are included in this year's evaluation.
