Excellent Career Service and Top Salaries – HHL in the Financial Times Ranking 2023

Elisa Vetter Media Relations
HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management

The Master in Management program at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management has achieved top rankings in career counselling and alumni network in the annual Financial Times ranking. Three years after graduation, HHL graduates earn higher salaries than graduates from all other German business schools. HHL ranks first in this category nationwide. Salaries rank third in Europe and seventh worldwide. The employment rate is 95 percent three months after graduation. In the overall ranking, HHL's program is ranked 34th worldwide and 4th in Germany.

HHL has improved its position in the area of career counselling. Compared to the previous year, it has risen six places and now ranks 5th worldwide, surpassing all other German business schools. This improvement is primarily due to the lifelong career support provided to students and alumni.

In this year's newly-introduced category "Alumni Network", the Master in Management program at HHL achieved another top position, ranking second worldwide. HHL alumni rated the network especially positively in terms of career opportunities, startups, idea generation, and information provision about career-related events. Annually, HHL hosts over 50 alumni networking events worldwide and has more than 3,500 active members.

Source of Reflection: Identifying and Exploiting Development Potential
Determined to continue striving for excellence in education and research, Prof. Dr. Tobias Dauth, Dean and Chief Financial Officer of HHL, views this year's Financial Times ranking as a valuable source of reflection. He emphasizes:

"The ranking results are a confirmation of our commitment and showcase our strengths. At the same time, it inspires us to improve even further and provide our students with a first-class management education. The identified areas for development are both an opportunity and inspiration for us."

Among the aspects offering room for improvement, alongside increasing the representation of female students and staff, is the promotion of international diversity among both students and faculty. Additionally, reducing the carbon footprint is a goal to be pursued.

The FT Global Masters in Management Ranking
is one of the world's most prestigious rankings for Master in Management programs. It is based on the combination of data from two different surveys. One survey gathers responses from graduates of schools who completed their studies three years ago, while the other includes self-reported information from the business school, including data on student diversity and program internationalization.

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management
HHL is a university authorized to confer doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. The primary goal of Germany's oldest business school is to educate entrepreneurial, responsible, and effective leaders. HHL is distinguished by its excellent teaching, clear research orientation, practical transfer and exceptional student services. In 2021, the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany (Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft) ranked HHL as Germany's leading university for startups for the fifth consecutive time. Over the past 30 years, over 530 startups have emerged from HHL, employing more than 50,000 people. HHL was the first German private business school to receive accreditation from the internationally renowned AACSB and has consistently maintained this high-quality status for four consecutive terms.
