Vorlesung im Rahmen der Johannes Gutenberg-Stiftungsprofessur am 5. Juli mit dem Gastredner Richard Leakey aus Kenia
(Mainz, 30. Juni 2004, lei) Richard Leakey ist eine der einflussreichsten und inspirierendsten Persönlichkeiten in der afrikanischen Politik und in Fragen des globalen Umwelt- und Naturschutzes. Er gilt als führende Kapazität der Paläanthropologie und setzt sich seit Jahren für den Natur- und Artenschutz in seiner Heimat ein. Am Montag, 5. Juli 2004, ist Dr. Richard Leakey zu Gast bei Professor Klaus Töpfer, Exekutiv-Direktor des Umweltprogramms der Vereinten Nationen (UNEP) und Inhaber der Johannes Gutenberg-Stiftungsprofessur 2004 der "Freunde der Universität Mainz e.V.".
Die Veranstaltung zum Thema "Wildlife Conservation: Challenges of the 21st century" beginnt am Montag um 18.15 Uhr im Hörsaal RW 1, Neubau Recht und Wirtschaft, Jakob-Welder-Weg 9, Campus der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Die interessierte Öffentlichkeit ist hierzu herzlich eingeladen. Simultanübersetzung wird angeboten.
