For the fourth time in a row, employees rate IU International University of Applied Sciences as an attractive employer

    • Great Place to Work: IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU) receives award for its employee-friendly corporate culture.

    • Top scores in the categories "fairness", "togetherness" and "team spirit".

    • "Culture of Everyone®": The focus at IU is on helping to shape the corporate culture and the personal growth of each individual.

For the fourth time in a row, Great Place to Work has certified IU International University of Applied Sciences as an attractive employer. The award is based on both an anonymous survey of all IU employees and an external analysis of HR measures. In the overall evaluation, IU was able to gain two percentage points from the previous year and achieved significant top scores in various categories.

Personal growth and actively shaping the corporate culture

At IU, Germany's largest university with over 130,000 students from more than 190 countries and over 4,000 employees from 87 nations, diversity and openness have been in its DNA from the very beginning. With a "Culture of Everyone®", IU creates a working environment in which every employee is motivated to contribute their individual strengths and grow personally.

"We are proud of our diverse and motivated workforce, which makes us who we are and brings us a little closer every day to our goal of personalising education and making it accessible to everyone. Education is the basis for self-fulfillment - and we want to make this possible for both our employees and students every day," says Tim Kaltenborn, Director People Organisation & Culture at IU International University of Applied Sciences.

In October 2022, IU received the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for its equal opportunities and diversity-oriented personnel and organisational policy. IU is also a signatory to the “Charta der Vielfalt” and has been officially committed to an appreciative and unprejudiced working environment since 2019.

Working at one of the largest EdTech companies in Europe

Just as many IU students organise their day-to-day learning in a highly flexible and digital way, the day-to-day work of IU employees is just as flexible and progressive. State-of-the-art technical infrastructure, individual working time models, flexible office space in almost all major German cities and services such as Workation and Full-Remote make it possible to work from almost anywhere at IU and adapt work to your own life.

AI-controlled voice assistants and other GPT systems have become an integral part of everyday working life at IU and help to free up more resources for the really important projects.

"Our interconnectedness, our collaboration and our freedom of movement open up new possibilities and make us more efficient. This makes us more flexible and efficient. Thanks to the hybrid working environment at IU, we combine the best of both worlds - the physical and the virtual - and continue to grow as a digital pioneer and provider of personalised education," says Kaltenborn.

The ratings in the Great Place to Work survey show that this philosophy is well received by employees. Over 80 per cent of them believe that there is a good sense of togetherness, team spirit and friendliness at IU. A full 90 per cent rate IU as a fair employer.
