Due to exemplary actions in the field of equal opportunity-oriented personnel and organizational policies, Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapy is awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for the second time, which is valid for the years 2024 to 2026.
“We are extremely pleased that the LIT is once again awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY award. We believe that a work environment characterized by genuine equal opportunity and diversity is the foundation for the innovative and groundbreaking research carried out by our staff at the highest scientific level. Pioneering scientific discoveries and medical therapies are constantly produced by a diverse community of scientists at the LIT. Different perspectives, experiences, and views drive our research," says Prof. Philipp Beckhove, Scientific Director.
The LIT follows an equal opportunity strategy focusing on reconciling work and family and “gender-equitable personnel management”. Measures such as “family-friendly meeting times,” “childcare during school holidays,” and “individual working time arrangements for special burdens due to caregiving responsibilities” contribute to better work-life balance.
To increase the proportion of women in scientific leadership positions and to attract and retain excellent female scientists, the LIT strives for proactive recruitment of female postdoctoral researchers and professors. This is supported by membership in the “Dual Career Network Northern Bavaria,” which promotes the recruitment of scientists and their partners from the postdoc level onwards.
