FIBAA Introduces Revised Assessment Guides

Olga Leshchanskaya Marketing & PR
FIBAA - Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation

FIBAA is pleased to announce the adoption of its newly revised Assessment Guides for the accreditation of Bachelor and Master programmes, as well as Doctoral programmes. The updates were officially approved during the 16th FAZK meeting and will take effect on March 1, 2025.

The revision of the Assessment Guides reflects FIBAA's commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in higher education amidst a rapidly evolving academic landscape. Recent developments, such as the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and research, as well as the growing focus on inclusive, equitable education and lifelong learning, have underscored the necessity of aligning accreditation processes with these emerging trends.
The updated Assessment Guides introduce three key areas of focus:
First, the inclusion of artificial intelligence as a vital element in higher education. Institutions are now expected to demonstrate how their study and examination regulations address AI developments. This includes the implementation of guidelines and tools to detect AI-generated content and plagiarism, as well as training students to critically use AI technologies in their academic work.
Second, the updated guides place greater emphasis on inclusive and equitable education, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. Accreditation processes now assess whether institutions implement measures to ensure equal access to education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. Specific attention is given to the professional development of teaching staff, particularly in areas such as inclusion and equity.
Third, the revised guides reinforce the importance of employability. Higher education institutions are expected to equip students with the skills necessary for their chosen careers while also fostering international perspectives to enhance graduates’ employability in a globalized job market.
Commenting on the updated Assessment Guides, Mag.a Diane Freiberger, MBA, Managing Director of FIBAA, emphasized:
“Our revised Assessment Guides reflect our unwavering commitment to supporting innovation and inclusivity in higher education. By addressing contemporary challenges such as artificial intelligence, equity, and employability, we aim to provide institutions with the tools they need to maintain excellence while preparing students for a rapidly changing world.”
