At Hannover Messe 2025, Fraunhofer FIT presents its latest generative AI and data space applications. The exhibit "Generative AI That Works" shows how large language models work more reliably and accurately when combined with knowledge graphs. A second exhibit demonstrates how companies can exchange high-quality data securely and confidently using advanced data spaces enhanced by AI methods. Visit us at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft booth (Hall 2, B24).
Generative AI technology and data spaces are driving transformation across various industries. At this year's Hannover Messe, Fraunhofer FIT demonstrates its extensive expertise in the areas of data science, generative AI, and human-centered innovation with several exhibits. Real-world application examples will show how these technologies can create added value for companies and institutions.
The exhibit "Generative AI That Works" highlights the potential arising from the integration of knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs). LLM-based workflows can be utilized more reliably and accurately through the integration of structured information sources, such as knowledge graphs. These technologies thus help optimize the applicability of structured representations of domain and expert knowledge. The applications shown cover a wide range, from general strategies for implementing LLM-based workflows in companies to agents for advanced learning and task automation in various fields, such as business processes, medicine, and cybersecurity.
The exhibit "Data Spaces – Secure and Sovereign Data Ecosystems" demonstrates how companies can use data spaces to exchange data securely and sovereignly. It presents technical building blocks such as interoperability and data security, as well as governance mechanisms necessary for the successfully implementation of data spaces. Visitors can test through demos from production and medicine how data spaces foster innovation and facilitate efficient collaboration between industry partners. Furthermore, they can discover how data spaces can enhance analytical methods such as AI applications.
In addition, Fraunhofer FIT presents current results of the WIRKsam project at the booth of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Our exhibit "AI in the world of work: Support instead of replacement" uses interactive XR demonstrators to let visitors experience in a practical way how AI can support quality control in production (Hall 2, Booth A28).
Fraunhofer FIT will also be featured in the supporting program of Hannover Messe. On Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:50 AM, Institute Director Prof. Dr. Stefan Decker will present a talk on the Tech Transfer Stage in Hall 2 titled "From Research to Practice: Generative AI Applications at Fraunhofer FIT". He will use real-world examples to discuss how generative AI overcomes challenges and creates value for companies and society in areas like predictive maintenance, automated design and customer interaction. Additionally, the Masterclass "Data Management and Data Protection in the Age of AI" on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 4:45–5:45 PM will provide an overview of current developments in data management, such as data spaces and generative AI. Participants will learn to assess the challenges and potential of these technologies, understand current technology trends and their implications, and make informed decisions for their company – enabling them to confidently embark on further digitalization projects.
