Hof, March 20, 2025 – The University of Applied Sciences Hof, awarded “Germany’s Most Popular University” by studycheck.de in both 2023 and 2024, is setting new standards for prospective students with an innovative tool: The Degree Program Generator. This unique tool, the first of its kind in Germany, allows prospective students to find and customize their ideal degree program based on their individual interests. Developed by a team led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marco Linß and Prof. Dr. Sven Rill, the tool provides maximum guidance in choosing the right course of study.
The Degree Program Generator draws from the university’s broad academic offerings, including programs from the faculties of Business, Computer Science, Engineering, and Innovative & Interdisciplinary Sciences, as well as continuing education options in the "Career Plus Studies" program. With a total of 57 bachelor's, master's, and continuing education programs, students can choose from a wide range of elective modules—ranging from technical foundations and economic or sustainability topics to cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence or intercultural communication.
"Our Degree Program Generator gives prospective students the opportunity to select from a vast array of subject areas while considering their personal strengths and career aspirations. This is a milestone in study orientation and makes us unique across Germany," says University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann.

One of the highlights of the generator is its visually appealing and intuitive design. Users are guided through the selection process step by step. The clear structure and visual presentation make it easy to navigate and turn finding the perfect study program into an engaging experience. "This tool not only offers a wide academic spectrum but also impresses with its modern, user-friendly interface. It provides prospective students with ideal support on their journey to their perfect degree program," explains Prof. Linß.
