"Michael Ehrmann is an internationally acknowledged expert on the communication and transmission of monetary policy who held leading positions in central bank research departments on both sides of the Atlantic. With his background and network, he perfectly complements our faculty. We are delighted that he has decided to join Frankfurt School”, says Professor Emanuel Mönch, Co-Director of the Frankfurt School Centre for Central Banking.
“With his impressive background, Michael Ehrmann will strongly contribute to positioning the Frankfurt School Centre for Central Banking as an impactful think tank. As the founding partner of the Centre we are proud to fund the new professorship as well as the new Central Banking and Financial Regulation concentration and to support Frankfurt School as one of Europe’s leading business universities”, explains Gaston Reinesch, Governor of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg.
Professor Michael Ehrmann adds: “Frankfurt School’s finance and economics departments are among the research-strongest in Europe, and the university is located in the heart of the EU’s financial centre. This makes it the ideal place for the leading European think tank in central banking. I look forward to contributing to its development and making the new Central Banking and Financial Regulation concentration in its Master of Finance a success.”
The Frankfurt School Centre for Central Banking is dedicated to fostering research excellence, conducting outreach activities, and building a vibrant community in the field of central banking. The focus extends beyond monetary policy and encompasses other crucial areas where central banks hold key responsibilities, including financial stability and payment systems.
