Stockholm, Sweden - The final conference of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) will take place on 7-8 May. This important event will mark the culmination of the JPIAMR funding programme and highlight the impact of 10 years of transnational AMR research funded by the JPIAMR, as well as the forthcoming evolution into the European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR). We are pleased to invite a limited number of media representatives to attend the conference.
The event will provide a unique insight into the state of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the burden it will place on society if left unchecked. It will also showcase key research and projects aimed at tackling the challenge in Europe and beyond, and discuss how to communicate AMR research. The conference will bring together some of the world's most renowned AMR researchers.
Keynote speeches will be given by Irene Norstedt, Director, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission and Prof. Till Bachmann, Chair of the JPIAMR Scientific Advisory Board.
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dame Sally Davies, the UK Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). And LIFELINE The Musical, inspired by the life of Sir Alexander Fleming and true stories about the impact of antimicrobial resistance / AMR. Excerpts from LIFELINE will be performed live on stage.
The future EUP OHAMR, led by the Swedish Research Council, will be presented. The EUP OHAMR is expected to coordinate AMR research and innovation with a One Health approach engaging around 30 countries and over 50 partners. It is expected to launch its first call for research proposals in autumn 2025.
