Professor Dr. Carsten Werner, Scientific Director at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (abbrev. IPF in German), has been honored with the Career Achievement Award of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – European Chapter (TERMIS EU).
The TERMIS EU Career Achievement Award is presented annually to an established researcher who has made groundbreaking and sustained contributions to the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. This year, it recognizes Professor Werner’s scientific impact as well as his commitment to mentoring and inspiring future generations of researchers.
The award was presented during the society's annual conference, which took place in Freiburg from May 19 to 23. As part of the award ceremony, Professor Werner delivered a plenary lecture highlighting recent progress in the mechanistic understanding of exogenous cell fate control and its use in advanced biomaterials design.
