● Frankfurt School of Finance & Management will integrate OpenAI tools into research, teaching and administration
● Technology is transforming finance and management and has become an integral part of business education
● All students in degree programmes and all employees get access to ChatGPT Edu
Frankfurt School of Finance & Management collaborates with OpenAI, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI), to implement ChatGPT Edu as the central AI tool for its staff and degree programme students. The business school will integrate the tool and the possibilities of AI across research, teaching and administration to enhance productivity, improve learning and drive innovative research.
Professor Nils Stieglitz, President and CEO of Frankfurt School, says: “Frankfurt School is at the cutting edge of research and education, preparing the next generation of business and finance leaders. With AI poised to revolutionise every industry and corporate role, it’s critical for leaders to grasp its mechanics and drive the transformation. The school equips students to harness AI’s potential responsibly, prioritising data security and cybersecurity. Partnering with OpenAI opens a new world of possibilities for the Frankfurt School community.”
Driving research and teaching
Frankfurt School faculty applies AI in research and in the classroom, covering a broad range of use cases from coding to the collection and analysis of data. The effects of the use of AI are also increasingly the subject of research: In a recent project, Professor Christian Schulze, Associate Professor of Marketing, investigates how customers visiting e-commerce websites via links from ChatGPT – versus Google and other sources – have a greater likelihood of purchasing products. The data suggest that AI does a better job of helping consumers in discovering their preferences and finding matching products than any other available online channels.
AI in curricula and classrooms
Technology and AI are an integral part of Frankfurt School’s curricula. With the Master in Financial Technology, the business school has recently launched a programme combining in-depth financial knowledge with state-of-the-art technology expertise preparing students to drive digital change in the financial industry and to develop innovation strategies.
In addition, faculty members use AI to develop and enhance existing courses. Professor Gregory Wheeler, Professor of Philosophy and Computer Science, explains: “I use ChatGPT to regularly refresh my Computational Statistics and Machine Learning courses. It has been remarkable to witness the rapid evolution of frontier models, their impact on student outcomes, and to adapt my teaching to prepare students for the unprecedented opportunities ahead.”
Leah Belsky, General Manager of Education at OpenAI said: “AI is already transforming education by enabling personalised learning, accelerating research, and boosting faculty productivity. By providing access to our cutting-edge AI tools across its institution, Frankfurt School is setting the standard in business education and equipping students and staff with the skills they need for an AI-enabled future.”
By introducing ChatGPT Edu across its institution, Frankfurt School will get access to OpenAI’s latest models alongside enterprise-level security. OpenAI will facilitate workshops with Frankfurt School staff focusing on specific use cases.
