The 10th spin-off company of the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF), ResCure GmbH, is making significant progress in translating an innovative wound dressing designed to resolve chronic inflammation. The polymer -based technology, originally developed at the IPF, is currently undergoing clinical evaluation. A multicenter clinical study focusing on venous leg ulcers has generated promising interim results, with completion expected by summer 2026.
Founded in June 2025, ResCure GmbH has established the organizational and operational framework needed to rapidly scale up production and systematically prepare for CE certification, a key regulatory milestone for medical devices in Europe. The company recently acquired the relevant intellectual property portfolios and associated brand rights from the IPF, laying a solid foundation for future commercialization. The technology transfer process was supported by co-financing from the European Union via the Saxon Development Bank (Sächsische Aufbaubank).
“With ResCure® Dressing, we are pursuing a radically innovative approach to resolving chronic inflammatory processes,” says Dr. Uwe Freudenberg, Managing Director of ResCure GmbH. “Our goal is to bring ResCure® Dressing to market as early as 2027 and to develop additional products for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. We hope this will benefit many patients and contribute to a more efficient healthcare system.”
