Privatdozent Dr. Karsten Thorn, LL.M. (Georgetown), geboren 1963 in Trier, erhielt am 18. Februar 2004 die Venia legendi für Bürgerliches Recht, Internationales Privatrecht und Rechtsvergleichung im Rahmen seiner Habilitation an der Universität Trier. Am 03. Juni 2004 nahm er den Ruf der Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, auf den neu geschaffenen Lehrstuhl für Bürgerliches Recht, Internationales Privat- und Handelsrecht und Rechtsvergleichung an.
