Am Mittwoch, dem 26. Januar 2005, findet die Wahl des Rektors der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg statt. Einziger Kandidat für das Amt ist Professor Klaus Erich Pollmann. Der erweiterte Senat der Universität hatte am 12. Januar d. J. einstimmig Klaus Erich Pollmann erneut für das Amt des Rektors der hiesigen Universität vorgeschlagen. Erstmals wählt der Senat den Rektor. Die neue Amtszeit des Rektors beginnt am 01. April 2005.
Professor Pollmann ist seit 1993 Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Geschichte der Neuzeit der Magdeburger Universität. Von 1996 bis 1998 war er Dekan der Fakultät für Geistes-, Sozial- und Erziehungswissenschaften und 1998 wurde er in das höchste Amt der Universität gewählt und stand der Alma Mater drei Amtsperioden als Rektor vor.
Die Wahl findet ab 13.00 Uhr im Senatssaal/Raum 205, Gebäude 05 der Universität statt. Nach der Wahl wird Ihnen Professor Pollmann voraussichtlich für eine Stellungnahme zur Verfügung stehen.
