Gemeinsames Institut mit der Chinesischen Akademie der Wissenschaften hat rechnergestützte theoretische Biologie als Schwerpunkt
Die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft verstärkt ihr wissenschaftliches und institutionelles Engagement in China: Gemeinsam haben die Chinesische Akademie der Wissenschaften (CAS) und die Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) jetzt die Gründung eines Partnerinstituts auf dem Gebiet der theoretischen Biologie (Computational Biology) in Shanghai beschlossen, das viele Eigenschaften eines Max-Planck-Instituts aufweisen wird. Zum Gründungsdirektor hat der Senat der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft bei seiner Sitzung am 18. März 2005 in Köln Prof. Andreas Dress, Leipzig, berufen. Gleichzeitig erfolgte die Berufung von Prof. Dress zum Auswärtigen Wissenschaftlichen Mitglied des Max-Planck-Instituts für Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften, Leipzig.
