ADSS - A Platform Supporting the Open Services Market
At the Object World held in Berlin from May 17 - 20, 1999 the project Autonomous Decentralized Service System (ADSS) Platform received an award in the category "Best use of Object Technology within Enterprise or Large Systems Environment". The ADSS project is performed in co-operation by Hitachi, Ltd. and GMD FOKUS.
The Object Application Awards, presented by ZD Events, a Ziff Davis group [NYSE:ZD] and LogOn Technology Transfer, is a program designed to honour successful object-oriented custom applications. The awards program is sponsored by the Object Management Group® and took place for the 6th time.
ADSS offers an object-oriented framework for electronic commerce, telecommunications and social information service systems. The ADSS architecture is thus developed for applications characterized by a large, federated and ever-changing environment. Accordingly, ADSS is defined as a distributed processing platform for intelligent service retailing and provisioning, which is expected to be a key business in tomorrow's electronic marketplace. It is thus a basis for the information society infrastructure.
