Die Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) hat eine neue Mitgliedshochschule. Die Plenarversammlung nahm die Hochschule für bildende Künste Dresden am 14. Juni in Berlin als 263. Mitglied auf. Die Hochschule, deren Geschichte bis ins 18. Jahrhundert reicht, hat derzeit rund 500 Studierende.
Die HRK ist der freiwillige Zusammenschluss der staatlichen und staatlich anerkannten Hochschulen in Deutschland. In ihr sind alle Hochschularten vertreten. Die HRK vertritt die Anliegen der Hochschulen gegenüber Politik und Öffentlichkeit und ist ein Forum für den gemeinsamen Meinungsbildungsprozess.
