Unter dem Dach des deutschen Pavillons präsentiert sich das CC-NanoBioTech vom 19. bis 22. Juni auf der BIO 2005 in Philadelphia/USA. Die BIO ist die weltgrößte internationale Fachmesse mit Kongress für Biotechnologie. Das CC-NanoBioTech stellt seine Dienstleistungen im Bereich Nanobiotechnologie vor.
Nanobiotechnologie, die Schnittstelle zwischen Nanostrukturwissenschaft und Biologie, ist ein Forschungsgebiet mit großer Zukunftsperspektive und hohem Marktpotenzial. Das Ziel von CC-NanoBioTech - ein Projekt der Länder Rheinland-Pfalz und Saarland und des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung - ist die nachhaltige Entwicklung einer international wettbewerbsfähigen Nanobiotechnologie-Region.
Konkret umfasst dies eine fachkundige Betreuung bei allen Fragen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette in der Nanobiotechnologie für Klein- und Mittelstandsunternehmen, Forschungseinrichtungen und die Industrie, das heißt unter anderem die Durchführung von Machbarkeitsstudien, Unterstützung von Start-Ups und Beratung. Technologieentwicklung über das Nano+BioCenter der TU Kaiserslautern rundet das Angebot ab.
Verschiedene Aus- und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen sowie eine begleitende Öffentlichkeitsarbeit bilden ebenfalls einen Schwerpunkt.
