Die Arbeitsgruppe um Dr. Dietmar Rösner, Professor für Angewandte Informatik an der Fakultät für Informatik der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, entwickelte ein Softwaremodul, das die Integration von Multiple-Choice-Tests mit anderen Lehr- und Lernmaterialien im World Wide Web ermöglicht. Dieses Modul, LlsMultipleChoice genannt, wird von der Arbeitsgruppe als kostenfreie, quelloffene Software im Internet angeboten.
Offensichtlich besteht an den elektronischen Multiple-Choice-Tests für das WWW großes Interesse. Innerhalb einer Woche nach der Veröffentlichung war die Software bereits 100 mal von Interessenten aus aller Welt heruntergeladen worden, informiert der Magdeburger Informatiker.
Bei Multiple-Choice-Tests werden zu einer Frage verschiedene Antwortmöglichkeiten vorgegeben, aus denen der Prüfling eine oder mehrere auswählen muss, die er für richtig hält. Die Tests sind insbesondere für die Durchführung so genannter formativer Tests in der akademischen Lehre interessant, d. h. Tests, die nicht der Benotung dienen, sondern die helfen, den Lernfortschritt zu überwachen und die Qualität der Lehre zu sichern.
