Tübinger Max-Planck-Wissenschaftler erforschen, wie das Gehirn auditorische und taktile Informationen im auditorischen Kortex verrechnet
Wenn Sinneswahrnehmungen aus unterschiedlichen Sinnesorganen im Gehirn verarbeitet werden, dann werden diese Informationen miteinander verrechnet - zum Beispiel Sprache und visuelle Information beim Anblick eines Bauchredners. Mit Hilfe von funktioneller Magnetresonanz konnten Forscher am Max-Planck-Institut für biologische Kybernetik in Tübingen zeigen, dass das Verrechnen von Informationen aus den Ohren und dem Tastsinn schon im Hörzentrum des Gehirns (auditorischen Kortex) stattfindet, also früher, als klassisch angenommen (Neuron, 20. Oktober 2005).
