Der von der IUPAC vergebenen Weltkongress Biotechnology findet im Jahr 2000 zum ersten Mal in Deutschland statt. Dieser hochrangige internationale Kongress wird vom 3. bis 8. September 2000 im ICC-Berlin abgehalten. Organisator ist die DECHEMA e.V.
Alle vier Jahre findet der von der IUPAC, International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, vergebene Weltkongress Biotechnologie auf einem anderen Kontinent statt. Im Jahre 2000 wird er zum ersten Mal in Deutschland durchgeführt und von der DECHEMA vom 03.-08. September 2000 im Internationalen Congress-Centrum Berlin organisiert.
Aufgrund der überragenden Bedeutung dieses Events wurden folgende Veranstaltungen mit in das 11th International Biotechnology Symposium and Exhibition integriert:
· 4th Congress on Molecular Medicine
· 2nd European Congress on Applied Genome Research
· 1st European Congress on Agri-Biotechnology
· 18th DECHEMA Annual Meeting on Biotechnology
Das International Scientific Committee unter Leitung von Prof. Pühler (Universität Bielefeld) hat die wissenschaftliche Struktur des Kongresses in 8 grosse Sections mit eigenen wissenschaftlichen Subcommittees eingeteilt:
· Section I Molecular Tools
· Section II Cellular Tools
· Section III Applied Genome Research
· Section IV Health Care
· Section V Agriculture and Food
· Section VI Environmental Biotechnology
· Section VII Biochemical Engineering Science and Processes
· Section VIII Biotechnology and Society
Alle Biotechnologen, die auf diesen Gebieten arbeiten, haben ab sofort die Möglichkeit, Abstracts für Vorträge und Poster einzureichen. Der Call for Papers ist erhältlich bei der
