Zu den Frühjahrstagungen der Deutschen Physikalischen Gesellschaft treffen sich im März über 7.000 Fachleute aus dem In- und Ausland. Die Tagungssaison umfasst sieben Kongresse, die vom Klimaschutz bis zur Nanotechnologie das gesamte Spektrum der Physik abdecken.
München ist Gastgeber der "Jahrestagung", bei der die Max-Planck- und die Stern-Gerlach-Medaille verliehen werden. Größte Tagung - mit 4.000 erwarteten Teilnehmern - ist das Treffen europäischer Festkörperphysiker in Dresden.
