Salmonellen-Forschung liefert wegweisende Hinweise für die Entwicklung neuer Antibiotika
Neue Angriffspunkte für die Entwicklung dringend benötigter Antibiotika gegen Krankheitserreger haben Wissenschaftler der Max-Planck-Institute für Infektionsbiologie und Biochemie zusammen mit Kollegen der Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover entdeckt. Doch ihre Befunde zeigen auch, dass es wesentlich weniger Angriffspunkte für die Herstellung neuer Antibiotika gibt als bisher erwartet. Diese Forschungsergebnisse sind daher richtungweisend für die weitere Antibiotika-Forschung (Nature, 16. März 2006).
