Prof. Dr.-Ing. Paul W. Baier vom Fachbereich Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik der TU Kaiserslautern ist für seine herausragenden wissenschaftlichen Verdienste zum Mitglied (Fellow) der Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) ernannt worden.
Der Hochschulprofessor wurde von der ehrwürdigen und berühmten schottischen Akademie neben weiteren exzellenten Wissenschaftlern zusammen mit dem Nobelpreisträger Peter Doherty (1996 für Medizin) und dem zweifachen Pulitzer-Preis-Gewinner Bernard Bailyn (1968 und 1986) mit dieser hohen Auszeichnung bedacht.
