BioChipNet - revamped

Dr. Thomas Joos Pressestelle
NMI Naturwissenschaftliches und Medizinisches Institut an der Universität Tübingen

April 25, 2006 Reutlingen/Nesoddtangen: The NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University of Tübingen announced today that it has updated the BioChipNet website at http://www.biochipnet.com. In cooperation with Bachmann Consulting, based in Norway, we are able to combine expertise in the field of microarray technology with that of information management. In addition to updated information on companies and institutions working in the highly dynamic field of microarray technology, the new site is easier to navigate and includes new content pertaining to biochips.

BioChipNet was launched in 2001 with funds provided through the "Zukunftsoffensive Baden-Württemberg" programme. The online database is part of the BioChip Technologies Competence Network in Germany, which is coordinated by protein microarray specialist Dr. Thomas Joos from the NMI, who also serves as scientific advisor to BioChipNet. The Network integrates companies, institutes, universities and research institutions with different strengths in the areas of laboratory equipment, microelectronics, fine mechanical techniques, microtechnology, biotechnology, medicine and diagnostics. BioChipNet contains the "who's who" of the world's biochip scene and links to the respective companies, research institutions, conference organisers, news providers and patent databases. The monthly BioChipNet newsletter complements the online information with details of the latest patent issues, publications, conferences, conference reports and book reviews. The press releases are updated on a daily basis. The informational content is offered free of charge.
