Der Rat des Fachbereichs II hat Ende April 2006 die Germanistin Prof. Dr. Franziska Schößler in der Nachfolge von Prof. Dr. Klooß zur Dekanin gewählt. Er hat seit April das Amt des Vizepräsidenten der Universität Trier übernommen. Prodekanin im FB II wurde die Japanologin Prof. Dr. Hilaria Gössmann.
Einen Wechsel gab es auch im Fachbereich III. Die Papyrologin Dr. Bär-bel Kramer wurde in Nachfolge von Prof. Dr. Winfrid Thaa zur neuen Prodekanin gewählt.
