Innovativer Rußfilter beruht auf Forschungsarbeiten aus dem Berliner Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft
Am 20. Juni 2006 verlieh der Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie den Umweltpreis in der Kategorie "umweltverträgliche Produkte" an die MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG und die EMITEC GmbH. Der neuartige Dieselpartikelfilter verringert den Ausstoß von Rußfeinstaub aus dem Abgas von Nutzfahrzeug-Dieselmotoren um bis zu 90 Prozent, indem er die Rußpartikel kontinuierlich verbrennt. Das offene Filterkonzept kommt im Unterschied zu bisherigen Dieselfiltern ohne zusätzliches Additiv aus und ist vollkommen wartungsfrei. Der Dieselpartikelfilter ist inzwischen serienmäßig in LKW und Bussen im Einsatz.
