Das Konzil der TUD hat heute Professor Karl Lenz zum Prorektor für Bildung für die Amtszeit 2006 bis 2009 gewählt.
Professor Karl Lenz wurde am 11. Juni 1955 in Unterstrogn/Oberbayern geboren. Er studierte von 1974 bis 1980 Soziologie, Sozial- und Wirtschaftsgeschichte sowie Psychologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. 1985 promovierte er an der Universität Regensburg. Nach seiner Habilitation im Jahr 1992 arbeitete er bis 1993 als Vertretungsprofessor am Institut für Soziologie der TUD. 1993 wurde er als Professor für Mikrosoziologie an die Philosophische Fakultät der TUD berufen. Von 1997 bis 2000 war Professor Lenz Studiendekan und von 2000 bis 2003 Dekan der Philosophischen Fakultät.
Professor Karl Lenz wird sein Amt am 1. Dezember 2006 antreten.
Bereits am 15. November wurden Professor Manfred Curbach zum Prorektor für Universitätsplanung und Professor Jörg Weber zum Prorektor für Wissenschaft gewählt.
