Auf Einladung der Technischen Universität Ilmenau findet vom 8.-12.Mai 2000 die 10.Internationale Konferenz für Graphentheorie im Hotel "Am Wald" in Elgersburg bei Ilmenau statt. 80 Mathematiker aus 12 Ländern haben sich zu der Tagung angemeldet, die mit 37 Jahren ebenso lange besteht wie die von Prof. Horst Sachs begründete "Ilmenauer Schule für Graphentheorie".
Im Mittelpunkt der Konferenz stehen neue Erkenntnisse aus den verschiedenen Gebieten der Graphentheorie und deren Anwendung in der Praxis. so. z.B. bei der Konstruktion von Schaltkreisen, der Lösung von Zuordnungsproblemen, dem Aufbau von Mobilfunknetzen und Sendeanlagen oder der Erstellung von Fahrplänen im Transportwesen.
Mit Schelp und Faudree(USA), Enomoto(Japan), Melnikov(Russland), Toft(Dänemark) und den Deutschen Aigner, Groetschel und Halin können führende Vertreter der Graphentheorie zu dieser Konferenz begrüßt werden.
Tagungseröffnung: Montag, 8.5.2000, 14.00 Uhr, Hotel "Am Wald", Elgersburg, durch den Tagungslaeiter Prof. Jochen Harant, Ilmenau.
