Berlin Centre of Competence for Water organises the 2nd IWA National Young Water Professionals Conference in Germany
The Berlin Centre of Competence for Water is organising, together with the International Water Association, the 2nd National Young Water Professionals Conference in Germany, on 4-6 June 2007 in Berlin. The conference, which theme is "Membrane technologies for wastewater treatment and reuse", is an initiative of MBR-Network, the coalition of four projects supported by the European Commission and fully dedicated to the development of the MBR technology (www.mbr-network.eu).
The outstanding conference program includes formal presentations of papers and posters on leading-edge research or full-scale activities undertaken by young water professionals under the age of 35. The technical sessions cover a broad range of topics such as MBR process optimisation and wastewater reuse, novel approaches on membrane fouling, modelling of membrane processes, and new membrane technologies and concepts.
The event includes a free one-day technical workshop "Performances and economics of membrane-based concepts for decentralised wastewater treatment". The workshop presents the results of the EU-Life demonstration project "ENREM", a decentral wastewater scheme with low pressure sewer and advanced biological removal in MBR, as well as four German projects on membrane-based processes for decentral wastewater treatment.
Several technical tours to the MBR demonstration plant in Berlin-Margaretenhöhe, operated by Berliner Wasserbetriebe, are organised within the conference program.
