The Foundation for Polish Science in collaboration with EEA are looking for 15 eligible Polish scientists for a 2-3 year research grant.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION IS THE 30TH OF APRIL 2007
THE OBJECTIVE is to support the reintegration of researchers after their stay abroad, facilitate their return and boost their academic career by improving their working conditions and supporting continued cooperation with their foreign host research centre.
THE ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
- are Polish citizens
- are young PhDs, at an early career stage (up to 4 years from Ph.D. completion)
- are affiliated with a Polish scientific entity
- shall return to Poland within 12 months prior or 6 months posterior to the cutoff date (30 April)
- have had a long term residence abroad
THE CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED on the following criteria:
- excellent scientific achievements
- clear and well-defined research proposal
- clear description of the cooperation with the former host institution and the guarantee of pursuing scientific career
THE GRANT IS APPROX. 50 000 PLN A YEAR.
The grant consists of the following elements:
- individual research stipend for the successful applicants
- subvention for scientific project and international cooperation.
SPECIAL PREFERENCE shall be given to candidates who have already received a grant from an institution or organisation, with which the Foundation has concluded a co-operation agreement:
Max Planck Gesellschaft (Max Planck Society)
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation)
Norges forskingsrad (Research Council of Norway)
Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation)
Institut Für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (Institute for Human Sciences)
National Science Foundation (NSF)
Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung (Austrian Science Fund)
The above institutions may provide matching funds for the programme laureates.
